AOF Employment Board

The AOF Employment Board strives to help students in Northport High School's Academy of Finance (AOF) program by connecting them with community members to help students find internships, job shadowing opportunities, and networking events.

What is AOF?

History of AOF

The National Academy of Finance (NAF) has been preparing students for the business world since it began in 1980 at a high school in New York City. Four decades later, NAF has branched out to over 619 academies across the nation, including at Northport High School. The program first started at Northport High School in 1995 with only 13 students enrolled. Today, the Northport High School AOF program consists of more than 250 students and is growing stronger every single year, with our program achieving the “Distinguished Academy” status for its exceptionally high performing students. The Academy of Finance is dedicated to helping students prepare for their futures through its business-oriented curriculum, guest speaker events, class trips, and internship opportunities.

How does the website work?

Students in AOF use the website when navigating their internship search. One requirement of AOF is to complete a paid internship prior to graduation, and this website works to help with that process.

Students can find internship, job shadowing, and networking opportunities in the Student Opportunities tab.

Employers can request to have their opportunities posted through the instructions in the Employers tab.
